The most rewarding part of being a Scuba Instructor for us has always been helping newcomers get started in scuba. Although we offer continuing education courses we prefer to focus on services to the entry level recreational diver, someone who much of the dive industry seems to have taken for granted lately.

We offer the "personal trainer" approach with your scuba education. Unless otherwise specified, we do your classes independently of other scuba students. We won't stick you in a class with a lot of people you don't know and probably don't care to know. We also supply everything needed for your entire course with us. This means all academic training materials, all scuba equipment (assuming we have your size) and even mask, snorkel, fins and weight belt. We even transport the equipment back and forth to the water classes for you. If you have access to a pool, we'll even bring the equipment to your pool.

We do most of our ocean training dives at our beautiful nearby Hollywood by the Sea city park which has white sand beaches, fresh water showers, spacious public restrooms and easy access parking. You won't get seasick too easily there either and if you do, you won't have to pay over again for another boat ticket.

Have you always wanted to learn how to scuba dive, but have some apprehensions about going underwater with all that gear on? Ask about our free introductory scuba lesson, which may help you to shed your apprehensions and encourage you to finally get started on your own personal escape to adventure.

We also participate in the Universal Open Water Referral Program for visitors from IDEA, NASDS, NAUI, PDIC, SSI and YMCA who wish to complete their open water certification classes here in south Florida.

NITROX DIVING

We now offer a no-nonsense PDIC International Nitrox diver certification for recreational divers who anticipate using Nitrox at resorts or on board dive charter boats in the future. This can be completed in one day by successfully completed the necessary study materials and exam, and is available to certified divers of any agency or experience level.

What is Nitrox and why use it?

Nitrox is simply oxygen enriched air containing 22% to 40% oxygen. Air that is not oxygen enriched is comprised of approximately 21% oxygen and 78% nitrogen with the remaining 1% being trace amounts of several other gases.

By breathing Nitrox a typical diver will take up less nitrogen on a given dive, therefore lowering his/her risk of decompression sickness. An additional benefit of Nitrox is the reduced effect of nitrogen narcosis. While diving to depths below 80 feet or so, the nitrogen partial pressure will be less than a comparable air dive, thereby reducing the effects of nitrogen at deeper depths (80-130 foot range). As with all recreational SCUBA diving activities, the 130 foot/no-decompression diving rule applies to Nitrox as well.

After a dive, residual nitrogen levels are lower than a comparable air dive, which in turn will increase available bottom time on repetitive dives, decrease surface intervals, or both. Nitrox also reduces the risk of flying after diving.
